Overview
Speedscreen400 was used in this situation as a freestanding, standalone screen structure. This sits straight on top of the roof surface, using ballast weight and overhead bracing to satisfy the fully calculated wind loading requirements. This space-efficient screening system was the ideal solution for this crowded rooftop environment.

About the project

Design

Our in-house design team developed a tailored solution to accommodate the screening system within a highly space-conscious area. Our Speedscreen400, requiring just 400mm of clearance around its perimeter, was carefully designed to fit around existing units and pipework. The system provides effective visual and acoustic containment of the equipment while maximizing available rooftop space.

Key features

– Speedscreen400 ballast weighted system to screen off the equipment without penetrating the roof.

– Acoustic + panels providing a 33db + NRC 1.0 reduction.

– Standard Screen finish polyester powder-coated to multiple colours to align with the planning and architectural packages.

– Conforms to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008

Installation

The non-penetrating design allowed the system to be installed directly on top of the finished roof build-up without compromising the waterproofing layer. Its modular format, prefabricated in our Leeds factory and delivered flat-packed to site, enabled rapid assembly with minimal disruption to the rooftop environment.
