How Do I Get A Price On A Platform?
Provide as much as the following and email to: [email protected]
- Size of the platform you require.
- Roof pitch in degrees (if pitched)
- Roof or surface type if known.
- Surround type if required.
- Any plans, sketches or photos.
How Can I Measure My Roof Pitch?
You can either use a digital pitch measurer or you can use a standard spirit level and our roof pitch calculation tool
What Materials Are The Platform Constructed Of?
6063 T5 Extruded aluminium
1050H14 Sheet aluminium
Fixings – 410 Stainless Steel
How Are The Platforms Fixed To The Roof?
In most applications the platform is not fixed to the roof as it has very little flat area wind resistance and with the standard foam rubber mounting tape and the weight of the plant and equipment it is not required, however if there is any doubt then the VHB mounting tape can be selected which adheres the wedges for series 1 and frames for series 3 to the roof surface. See Mounting Tape Options
What Are The Platforms Rated To?
The platforms are rated to 2.5kPa (255 Kg/m²), and the complete range complies to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008. Higher ratings are achievable if required. Please discuss your requirements with our design team.
How Much Weight Can I Put On The Platform?
The square meter size of the platform x 255Kg – providing the weight is centralised on the platform – the structural design of the platform ensures that a centrally located weight on the platform is evenly distributed over the footprint size of the platform. Go to our Platform Load Calculation Tool to check the maximum load your ideal size platform is designed for.
How Heavy Are The Platforms?
Series-1: 14 Kg/ m²
Series-2: 18 Kg/ m²
Series-3: 20kg/ m²
Guardrail: 3kg/lineal metre
Standard Screen / Louver100: 7kg/m²
Soundshield Acoustic Screen Wall: 15.25kg/m²
Peacemaker Acoustic Screen Wall: 7.25kg/m²
Acoustic+ Acoustic Screen Wall: 16.5kg/m²
Go to our Platform Weight Calculation Tool to check your Configured Platform total weight.
How Long Does It Take To Install The Platforms?
Configured Platforms have developed a Labour Calculator that you can use to calculate how long your installation will take. It is represented as the relationship between the square metres of product to be installed and the man/days (one man’s work in one day) required to install. Please be aware that this matrix is intended as a guide only as it is an average of historic statistics and may not align with your specific site and working conditions.
What Tools Do I Need?
No specialised tools are required, only standard hand and battery tools – the tools required for each product can be found in the relevant Assembly Instruction Manual.
Will I Need To Crane My Platform Onto The Roof?
If the platform is very large or is required on the roof in one package, a crane would be required – the alternative is to cut the package open and carry the individual parts up if there is a safe way to do it. The platform will arrive palletised and heat-shrink wrapped with the pallet weights on a label.
Can I Cut Penetrations In The Platform Or The Surrounds?
Yes you can but this needs to be discussed with one of Configured Platform’s engineers if any of the structural members are to be cut or if any screen components will become unsupported.
What Is The Warranty Period?
The complete Configured Platform range is covered by a 20 year Product Warranty.
Can I add to the platform or screen system at a later date?
Yes, all the systems are modular and can be added to as required. Acoustics can be added to or upgraded on an existing screen installation too.
